我们不拿中国具体的人和事来说， 那样太敏感， 又会导致五毛狗粮的口水战。

我们用罗马人把基督徒放入斗兽场的例子来看：

但是，当这种“不对”，面临着大多数公民的喜悦和福祉的时候， 就变得无足轻重了， 那就只好让那些人被狮子吃掉了呗。 也许会有极少数公民心里觉得让狮子吃人此事不妥， 但是， 也就是私字一闪念而已， 转眼就会被斗兽场里的厮杀带来的巨大快感所淹没了。

那些占中国人口极少数的被白色恐怖者， 那些违背其意愿而被侵犯的女性们， 那些被权贵强取豪夺了利益的一小撮人们，那些被强拆的业主们。。。 他们就是 “the Christian thrown to the lions”；

而那些奔走在街头、车站、机场，为自己的生意忙碌， 为自己的资产增值的普罗大众们，那些因为攀附上了权贵而大发横财的小人物们。。。 他们就是 “the ecstatic Romans”.
