With kids home from school, rainy likely to kick off Thanksgiving long weekend

It’s an extra-long long weekend for many local kids and it may feel interminable for parents with rain in the forecast.

The Ottawa Carleton District School Board has what they now call a PA – professional activity – day Friday.

Friday’s forecast is for clouds and a 60 per cent chance of morning showers then a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 18 C.

Overnight, the forecast is for clouds, a 60 per cent chance of rain and a low of 10 C.

For Saturday, periods of rain are expected to end in the afternoon with a high of 23 C that will feel like 30 with the humidity. Showers are forecast for overnight with a low of 18 C.

A mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers, day and night, with a high of 23 C and low of 10 C are forecast for Sunday.

Thanksgiving Monday and Tuesday are both expected to feature a mix of sun and cloud, a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 22 C.

Then the weather forecast turns a bit more fall-ish with a mix of sun and cloud and cooler highs, 18 C Wednesday and 16 C Thursday.
