Former Chelsea councillor Edmond Hétu has announced his candidacy for mayor of the municipality about 20 kilometres north of Ottawa.
Hétu was councillor from 2009 to 2013, serving as chair of the roads committee. He was also a volunteer firefighter.
He has pledged to pay down the township’s debt, while maintaining city services and infrastructure in good condition.
He is running against incumbent Mayor Caryl Green, seeking her third term, and former Ottawa city councillor Tim Kehoe.
