Residents escaped uninjured after fire struck a five-door rowhouse at 143 Russell St, in Sandy Hill early Friday.
Firefighters were called shortly before 4 a.m. when callers reported flames visible at the front door of one of the units.
Firefighters declared a working fire and worked to extinguish flames inside and outside of the row.
A fire inspector was dispatched to determine the cause of the fire.
There was no immediate estimate of the dollar loss.
