A 30-year-old Pembroke man has been charged with several counts of theft after the contents of two poppy sales boxes were stolen at a pair of Mac’s convenience stores in Pembroke earlier this month.
The man, identified as Cory Grant Albert Lapierre, was also charged with the theft of merchandise from a Staples store and nine counts of breach of probation.
He was to appear in court Tuesday.
Provincial police say a second suspect who stole candy from one of the Mac’s stores has been identified and the investigation is continuing.
