Ottawa’s guns and gangs unit was on the scene of a shooting Wednesday evening that sent a man to hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Ottawa police and paramedics said the shooting occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of Russell Road. A man was taken to hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition.
There were no other details of the shooting available late Wednesday night as police continued their investigation.
It was Ottawa’s 12th reported shooting incident since Jan. 1.
