A man in his 30s was taken to the trauma centre with what paramedics described as a severe leg injury after he was struck by an OC Transpo bus early Tuesday morning.

They were called to the Mackenzie King Bridge at 6:07 a.m. after the low-speed crash and said that the pedestrian was in serious but stable condition.

The city’s traffic centre reported that eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane on the bridge between Elgin and Waller streets.

Bystanders tweeted a photo of the victim pinned under the front of the bus.

Eastbound traffic was blocked for about an hour for the investigation. Lanes were partially reopened shortly after 7 a.m.
