Ottawa police are asking for the public’s assistance to identify a woman believed to have been involved in a break and enter at a home for senior citizens in the city’s west end.
Police said the most recent break-in occurred March 13 at an unidentified residence.
The woman, who was photographed in dressed in scrubs, walked into the residence and went through residents’s rooms, stealing various items.
Police said they believe the suspect is also responsible for a series of similar thefts in the region.
Ontario Provincial Police launched an investigation in February 2017, after the theft of a number of items, including cash, was reported by residents at a senior care facility on Robert Street in Arnprior. Residents there also reported seeing a woman dressed in scrubs posing as a caregiver.
The woman is described as Caucasian, between five feet six inches and five feet eight inches (168-173 cm) with a thin build and brown hair. Security photos showed her wearing glasses. The woman is believed to be in her thirties or forties, and she walks tilted forward, police said.
