陈水扁曾称台湾和利比里亚有共同价值观

多维社记者报导/台湾外交部长10月12日确认西非国家利比里亚同台湾断交的消息，指控北京威胁干预联合国在利比里亚的维和行动，借联合国迫利比里亚就范。至此，全球承认台湾的国家减少到26个。


美联社在相关报导中指出，利比里亚一直是台湾外交关系中的一个薄弱环节。过去14年，在军阀泰勒的统治下，利比里亚一直内战不止。泰勒1997年担任利比里亚总统，今年8月被美国赶下台。

报导特别提及了泰勒2001年对台湾的访问。当时，台湾总统陈水扁陈水扁只字不提泰勒对邻国塞拉利昂残暴叛军的支持，相反高度称赞饱受战乱之苦的利比里亚，称“在民主、自由和人权方面，我们两国人民有共同的愿望和价值观”。
