Italy coronavirus cases jump by 1,247 in a day

Italy saw a dramatic increase in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases today with a rise of 1,247 in a single day, the Civil Protection Department said in a statement.
The country now has a total of 5,883 cases.
The death toll also continues to climb with 36 fatalities reported on Saturday. The country has reported the most deaths outside of China, a total of 233.
Silvio Brusaferro, head of the Health Institute, said in a press conference that the majority of the deceased are male, over 80-years-old and suffered from other diseases.

South Korea coronavirus cases rise past 7,100 with 50 deaths

South Korea announced 367 new infections on Saturday, bringing the country's total to 7,134, according to the South Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
It is the worst outbreak outside of China.
Six more deaths were reported on Saturday, with 50 in total.
Among the 367 new cases, 294 are from Daegu city and 32 are from North Gyeongsang Province, the most heavenly infected areas in the country.

Japan reports 47 new coronavirus cases

Japan reported 47 more confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday, bringing the nation's total to 1,151, according to the the country's health ministry.
That tally include the 696 people who became infected onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which was quarantined in Yokohama for two weeks.
