卡尔顿和渥太华大学在最新的Maclean排名中几乎掉到了最后

yeah NRC is good, in the sense that it allows a lot of science students at U of O to experience the new discoveries in sciences.

NRC is not operated as an open campus for students from UO. Actually its summer students usually come from campuses all over the country.

In terms of chemistry, the only Noble prize winner of chemistry in Canads was from NRC.

If this is true, many of UO's professors should feel sorry for their producing efficiency from the funding.

i don't think so, just look at and compare the teaching labs in UO and UT, plus the difference in the labs in the health science faculty, you will know where did the money go. and for the funding, i will trust the figure on Mclean's

and from my experiences at both schools, i don't see neither feel the differences between the two. there is no best, but only most fitted.

rite, so that's why i said they were nominated. well, as a biochem student, i will have the chance to work in NRC, and i have many TAs from NRC, so does that count as one way of helping out UO students?

As I know, NRC does not have its own postgraduate students. So don't know where your TAs come from.

In terms of biochem, in Canada, UT, McGill and Queens difinitely will be much better than OU.

When talk about the quality of the research of universities, usually people compare their publication, not the teaching lab.

for McGill, their undergrad biochem students don't have to take organic 2 and organic 3, neither physical chem and spectrocopy. and it is the same for the biochem in U of T. but U of T's human bio is a good program.

Well, as I said. the reputation of an university usually come from the research, not teaching.

did i say my TAs are students in NRC? they work there.
i don't know about ur field, but i will believe my experiences and the comments from close friends in those schools you mentioned. Queen's is good, but for bichem, thumbs down for UT and McGill, if they are that good, how come those "prefect GPAs" come to UO for grad school?

well, but teaching is essential for students and that's what i am looking at. so that's why the Mclean's ranking doesn't help student's.

I can not image postdoc or even research officers work as TAs in OU.

I remember McLean also has rankings for teaching quality and reputation. These are different from the general ranking, I think.

You are saying that NRC has its own PhD students?

Tell you one thing, the postgraduate students (MSc and PhD students) working in NRC usually come from OU or CU. NRC does not have its own students except so called summer students.

NRC 有博士后是肯定的。
