COVID-19: Ford says his patience with teachers' unions is 'running very low'; 118 new cases in Ontario, 22 in Ottawa

Local

A pharmacy worker at Walmart’s Baseline Road location has tested positive for COVID-19, and was serving the public during the period when they were considered to be contagious.

Anyone who spent 15 or more minutes receiving service at the Walmart pharmacy at 1375 Baseline Rd. between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Aug. 15 or Aug. 16 is being asked to immediately self-isolate and call Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744.

Public health officials will help determine if the exposure was high-risk and if testing is recommended. All affected employees have already been contacted by OPH.

Customers at this Walmart who didn’t use the pharmacy or who did so outside the specified hours “are not considered at higher risk of exposure from this occurrence,” according to a public bulletin from the City of Ottawa.

In the city, meanwhile, there are currently 190 active cases of COVID-19, according to Ottawa Public Health, including 13 people in hospital, with one in ICU.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,893 confirmed cases have been identified in Ottawa’s population and 266 people have died from the disease.

Six local institutions are battling active outbreaks of the virus.

On Wednesday, the city introduced amendments to its mask bylaw in order to help further reduce the spread of COVID-19.

According to Heath Minister Christine Elliott, while the province saw 133 new cases, another 137 cases were resolved, making for a slight decrease in active cases.

Ottawa had 12 new cases, according to Wednesday’s data from the province, and also saw a decline in active cases.

There are now 200 active cases in the city (down from 214) and another 26 cases were resolved.

Ottawa Public Health releases its official figures, which sometimes differ from the province’s, later in the day.

According to the province, none of the other public health units in Eastern Ontario reported any new cases in the latest period.

OC Transpo has confirmed another driver tested positive for COVID-19, according to a memo to council from general manager of transportation services John Manconi.

还隔离个P呀,14天都过了!

是同一个司机,开了不同的车。

严格的隔离和追踪在这里没存在过。每次都是这么发个通知就完事了。真想查其实应该能查到,没人在乎,走个程序而已
