I pay more attention to inflation than good deals. Here is what I know.
Shipping costs will increase a lot this year. Canada Post's domestic shipping charge has been increasing. The fuel surcharge will hit 39.5 percent, up from 39 percent this past week and 38 percent from Nov. 14 to Nov. 20.
If Canada Post raises the shipping charge by 39.5%, other carriers won't be far behind or even charge more.
The cost of living keeps raising and raising. The US railway workers' strike is looming again-- a potential inflation factor to both USA and Canada. They don't ask for a pay rise and they had already been given what they asked in the summer to avoid adding fuel to the fire of the disruption of supply chains. This time they are going to strike for asking for equal paid sick leave same as to some US Federal employee's 56 hours/year of paid sick leave. They currently have 2 days of paid sick leave, Two days of paid sick leave a year the US railway workers have makes me think Doug Ford took away 2 days of paid sick leave from Ontarians who work for a provincially regulated none union business after he got in the office.
Bank of Canada has employees of 2,035. Bank of Canada's total bonus is $18 million this year. A nice job, even a janitor, in BoC, isn't it?
What are you, CFC government employees, going to ask Justin Trudeau, Doug Ford, or Mark Sutcliffe for the raise of the cost of living? Asking is different from a handout. Asking sometimes can be what they owe you.
Woop! I almost forget this post's headline. Any good deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday? Please share.
