Didn't pay attention to the Panasonic. There was a Sony HD-ready 36" flat pannel TV (crt not rear projection) with memory stick slot and stand for only 1999. I thought that was an amazing deal.

I cannot find it at Merivale COSCO.
At another COSCO?
Actually, I saw 32" SONY HDTV with price tag $1699.00 over there.
If you add $300 to get a 36". It would be a very good deal.

i got a sony one, 53inch, paid 4999 for it, HDTV
super clear, vivid, better than any CRT u can find
and no noise at all (uh who asked about fan noise???) there ain't no fan..
and been 3 years no problem, didn't turn yellow either
