It doesn't sound like a 4-way stop. Otherwise the big truck wouldn't have such a big momentum. It would be very hard for such a big truck to accumulate up to that momentum from speed 0. BMW may be.

But lots of people told me that it is unsual to see a Quebec guy to stop at the stop sign , especially out of the city.

客观的说, 当时他不冲一下的话, 卡车应该是撞车头, 死的就是他. 后面的也许还是要死.
如果当时的情景, 各位有什么好办法吗?

可能急刹车比往前猛冲好, 因为卡车速度很高, 或者那个方向没停牌, 或者司机没看见.所以他发现路中间时有车时剩下的反应时间很短, 最有可能习惯性地往右打方向盘来规避, 小车一加速刚好撞上.

卡车是直撞的, 没有规避

如果是我开卡车的话, 也顶多急刹, 不可能打右. 因为, 我怕翻车.

急转是会翻车, 但如果只转几度, 也能偏出去一两米.
那时候多半靠下意识, 有个东西从左边过来, 要一点都不弯也不容易.

个人觉得 all ways stop 的可能性大一点.

1: 周一行是去 Qubec city, 还在路上, 按理应该不会跑到一条小路去的. 除非是迷路在找路. 但是文中也没有说.还说挺顺利的. 在"省道"上, 按理应该是 all ways stop

2: 如果不是 all ways stop 的话, 周应该可以看见卡车, 我想他已经停了下来, 说明已经看见 stop sign, 他有什么必要顶着大卡车的压力去冲, 没道理的, 路这么远, 又不是快几秒就回到家拉

3: 他不大可能出到路中间才看见卡车, 最可能是在路中间的时候, 发现卡车没有减速, 因为那里是 all ways stop, 他出去的时候, 并没有料到卡车会冲, 这其实是最有可能的. 也是所有司机的梦厣.就象过绿灯碰上冲红灯的一样, 恐怖.

不知道周司机的保险里面有没有乘客的部分

我的保险是有的, 最少是100万, 我买了200万. 我开始的时候还不知道, 是保险公司跟我说的

不知道是不是所有保险公司都有这部分的

如果有的话, 死者的父母以后经济上还好过点

文章说走的是132。132除了在蒙特利尔南岸一小段跟20重叠，其他基本都是小路，而且三河附近除了40和55也都是小路。

从文章描述看，卡车应该是有优先权的。估计过马路时看了，但是没看见。这种情况在新手中其实比较普遍。错就错在应该看清楚路在过街，一出去就已经晚了。司机加速是下意识的反应，总不能坐等待毙。

今天路况很差，大家小心。
我今天在一个路口绿灯左转，对面的车看起来很远，可是在对面的里车道（left lane)上打滑，好在对面的车注意到了，也减速了，要不然就危险了。

( maybe not the original words but exactly the same meaning)

I saw it, and I heard about it and I believe it. and I think lots of people know it

开车还是要宁慢三分不抢一秒。大家可以想象国内开车的样子，他们没有优先权的礼
让概念，总是喜欢抢道，大转弯抢直行车的道。如果你不抢，礼让直行车，你后面
的车就会按喇叭逼你抢。如果你看看国内开车的混乱样就会明白啦，他们还戏称是
他们的游戏规则，好在大家都有默契，也很少撞上。所以越是国内有经验的“老”
司机在这里开车就越要注意安全，别按国内开车的游戏规则行事。
