Package forces another evacuation at Carleton
OTTAWA - For the second time in as many days, authorities evacuated Robertson Hall at Carleton University after the discovery of a suspicious package Thursday.
The envelope was discovered in the building's security mailroom. More than 50 people were forced to leave the building around 11 a.m. Thursday.
A hazardous materials response unit was sent into the building to investigate. The envelope simply contained a letter.
However, police said the writing on the package was identical to that found on two envelopes delivered Wednesday.
In that incident, Robertson Hall and another campus building were closed after they received and opened envelopes containing a mysterious powder. About 400 people were forced from the buildings.
Testing done by Health Canada later determined the powder was harmless.
