Should it be "burn the candle AT both ends"?

Correct me if I'm wrong

I thought that "burn the candle at both ends" simply means that one is busy, period.
It doesn't have to be "busy at work and busy with your personal life". The fact that burning a candle at both ends burns the candle twice as fast refers to the state of being busy.

Another similar expression:

Burn the midnight oil: 熬夜 工作.

Example :

thanks Bean. You are right. I made a mistake.

It is "burn the candle at both ends"

This idiom is really good to describe sb. working too much and very tired, especially by going to bed later and getting up early.
