It realy depends what you like.

It it now like in Zhongguangcun Beijing, you can buy cheap parts, here part is expensive,

my experience is, you give you choices to some computer store and let them assemply one for you, of couse you can control the budget.

here is my list:

Mother board: Asus P4P 800 ...
Intel P4 >2.8G(support HT and 1M cache), >400 bus
Integrated with sound card.
HD 7200 80GB with 8M cache
128M video card,
standard case (300W power, pay attention the power supply,)
current price around 650 -~700+tax

at work place,u don't need 120 HD for your workstations..
everything stored in the server..

if you work as a designer u may need 512MB ram
that's why BT HOTDOG called bussiness deskshit..
