Golden light is good but I think you would wish a bit more light so that you can avoid ISo400 and/or use a faster shutter speed for better sharpness.

Noticed some digital artifacts among the second batch of photos, e.g., #5/7 (look at the sky) is that because of post-processing ?

it should be. Noticed that these pictures were taken by Canon S100 not 10D.
