<HTML>In fact, there are many hi-tech companies in Waterloo-Kitchener area, like RIM and Sybase. I am now in Sybase, though I came from telecommunication area. Waterloo has some advantages: lower house rent, better universities( I mean for computer science and EE major), closer to Toronto. But if I have chances to join Nortel, I will definitely to there.

<HTML>In fact, I came to Waterloo just for the U of W, well, she is too famous in EE and CS area, even most companies in U.S like Lucent, Cisco admit that. Another point, Sybase offers good salary too, it is not lower than Nortel, Mitel, New Bridge(Alcate CID), etc. But now I found that, after several years in telecommunication area, I was somehow going farther and farther from Software area. they are too different. And software area is too tedious, I am wondering whether I can still do it after 40, so I am considering to go back to telecommunication area.
