Canada is a Christian country. In the 2001 Census, over 77% of Canadians are of Christian faith, so that makes Canada a Christian country. That's why so many Canadians are offended by the idea of changing the traditional definition of marriage. In their mind, this is a step forward to push the country to be completely secular.
I think Canadian Charter instead of Christian Faith rules Canada. It is quite different from USA. Although Christian population takes up most of Canadians, they should still obey Charter of Freedom, Equality and Human Rights. Anyway, not all Christian people think so, especially in young generations.:blink:
