Chinese usually don't like red wines sold here, they prefer something sweeter. Dry means less sugar, the drier the wine, the less sugar it contains.
Among the many different kind of wines, Merlot, Chianti and Shiraz are usually more acceptable to Chinese. Wine is supposed to accompany food, so different wines go with different food. If you don't know this, chances are that you don't really care about the wine, so just get something in the ten dollars range (in other words, the cheapest) from LCBO, because it's going to taste the same to you anyway.
