bought from Simon's. Not a bad deal, I'd say. After a long weekend (feels like it.:0), I received my camera along with two lenses (17-40 and 70-200) and a little spare battery at near 5:00 PM. I thought it would not come today. I almost gave up. :-D

Same as everyone of you. The first moment of a joy. I could not think of anything else, but open the box. I quickly assemblied the camera with the 70-200 lens. and here you go, my first serious shot. A cat I am currently looking after, friends away. All, I can say is: SHARP! I'd never get this crisp photos off my S400 for sure. :-D

Thanks very much to every and each of you

for your great support and generous help!

Thanks again!

恭喜一下
多尝试一下17-40,广角头相对来说难掌握一些,但是更好玩:D

You have a very corperative model. :D #1 has some motion blur but #2 comes out good. You can shoot at least at ISO400 and that will give you much faster shutter speed without having too much noise.

Congradulations. Enjoy your new camera and post more photos.

I agree that wide angles are harder to work with in general. I did all indoor shooting last night. I will try some landscape this weekend. I wish I could take my tripod and camera out when I go roller blading everyday along the river path way. There are a lots of beautiful scenes. I am just afraid of damaging them in case falls.

For landscape work, I would prefer to have filters first. Without filters, I feel like naked. :-D I have not yet got my filters. Once I got them, I will be up to speed.

Anyways, I hope we can improve together.

He is co-operative?! Are you kidding? I spent as much as 2 hours to capture a few shots. I wish I had a F/2.8L lenses. *$* At this moment, he was just simply having a break after an hour of naughty and destructive actions. (my poor flowers...)

You are right, I should have used ISO400. I...I forgot. :-( The joy was so much that I was a bit out of my mind...

I was getting a little bit of perfectionism at that moment. As you can see, I used mirror lockup to reduce the vibration, and also used 2 sec self timer to prevent the virbration caused by clicking the shutter. and I used a very heavy tripod too. All that results one thing, a vibration free shot. That was why this photo was sharp. :-D

I will try to take more photos when I can. However, I don't think I could keep up with you people. As I said long time ago, I bought this camera was mainly for recording moments in my trips. I travel as often as I can, and I don't want to miss a thing because of a bad camera. I don't consider myself a productive photographers as the way you guys are. I am somewhat more of a rigid explorer. or may I say? :-D

new photo

taken in Sail Club besides the Mud Lake. Any comments welcome! I am learning. :-)

adjusted curve, sharpened, graduate lightened at the bottom portion (to create a GND filter like effect) in PS.

club house

adjusted color temp in PS by using curve eyedrop, the original shot has too much sunset warm cast. I also sharpened and enlighened a bit. no crop.

my friend

hand held. taken in low light. result: soft. will never do it again. I first adjust the color temp, then applied blur, then sharpened a bit. finally adjusted curve. Taken with my 70-200 F4L at 70 end.

Here you go.
