精华 **** 关于 laminate floor 的问题 **** (有照片了：)

最近想把才买的房子以前的老地毯(在二楼卧室)全部换成 laminate floor。

想请教；哪里的性价比最合适？ 我跑了RONA和 HOMEDEPOT，除了这两家店之外还有什么地方可以比较比较？(RONA最便宜的是： 0.99 / sq.ft, 厚度为6.8 mm; HOMEDEPOT最便宜的是： 1.29 / sq.ft, 厚度为7mm)

我不想买昂贵的，因为这些已经都有15年的保险；当然最主要的原因这个房子本来就是老和小的房子。

关于厚度是不是应该至少不能薄于 7mm. 因为RONA的那个6.8的感觉起来很不结实？

Did you check if there is hardwood floor under the carpet? you can check from the vent outlet.
I do hardwood resanding(professional with quite a few years experince).

我想地毯下是hardwood floor的可能性比较小，八几年的房子。即便有，我都怕太朽了。

今天去问了costco，只有一种仿oke纹路的laminate floor，但是是2.29，对我来说太贵了。

I am doing it myself and it is not that hard, just remember to make sure that you leave 1/2 inch spaces around the wall to allow the stretching. And get yourself some useful tools which will make your life much easier whie installing. Good luck.

准备明天就打电话去推荐的那家公司去询问比较价钱。

今天还去参加了home depot的一小时seminar怎么装laminate floor，怎么里面说用spacer隔开1/4的离墙距离，而不是1/2inch？

听今天介绍说用 circular saw.

好像最便宜的电动的在home depot就20到30刀就能买到。

Your house probably isn't very old, it is enough to leave about 1/4 inch if you wall is straight, because mine house is old and the wall is uneven, so I will have to leave a bit more space. In the end I can use baseboard and quarter round to cover the gaps.

I use this kind of saw safe and accurate. You could buy on efrom Costco for about $170 (not DeWalt), it has laser helping you to have a straight cut.

You should also have a Installation Kit which is very handy to have.

哇，那么fancy的电锯阿，一定出的活漂亮。

那个安装的kit在homedepot有卖的，20块。没有录像带，但是里面的该有的都有了。

我现在就是担心留的离墙的那个距离太少或者太多。太少当然就是装那个墙条的时候装不进去；但是太多，会不会墙条装进去还松，地板就是来回有小范围的挪动阿。

总之就是没有做之前，想到的困难很大。

我还准备楼梯也安那个，但估计困难很大，不行就只能请人来做了。

I will try to do the stairs myself, one of my friend did it and the touchest part is at the corner where the stair turns. Also the stair nose is quite expensive, $17 each if you have 20 stairs, this can add up.
