我有个朋友2000年9月来的，约1年半多些后回国工作，2003年回来几天拿新换的枫叶卡，本想2005年9月底前在加国住满5个多月就满两年，可保留身了，所以今年4月回加国，后来一问，原来是从拿到枫叶卡起计算时间，即是2003 -2008年来计算，以前住的都不算了。

按Cuteboy的说法当然是正确的，但是好象有也不一样啊，规定中并没有指定必须到5年期才可以申请。
原文对过去5年的工作教育历史（Part C）第16、17条，Your address history for the past 5 years or if you become a permanent resident less than five years ago, your address history since becoming a permantent resident.很关键，就是说成为居民不到5年也可以申请！！！当然在加居住的时间要够730天啊！
原文中对离境1095天的规定原话是：Have you travelled or lived outside of Canada in the last five years (or if you become a permanent resident less than five years ago, since becoming a permanent resident)?那么，还没有到5年时间就超过1095天，当然没戏了。
如果针对Cuteboy的例子，没有到5年期就开始申请。（提前）在2005年申请，就可以将2001年的留加时间计算进来了啊！而且离开的时间也不到1095天，这样是否可以？很关键。
而且，我也没有发现有条款规定是从当初领PR卡的时候开始计算。那么早几年来的没有领卡的，移民监就白蹲了？？？

我的朋友应该要求从2003-2008年的5年内住满两年才能保留移名身份。她原来就以为2000-2005年住满2年就可保留身份了，所以4月份回来想把余下的5个多月留在加拿大过，后来到温哥华的一些办理移民的公司一问才知道弄错了。她不想这麽麻烦的飞来飞去了，所以想放弃身份了。大家有什莫好办法呢？

谁给个权威的说法？
每五年都要住满两年. 具体的意思是: 每次你进入加拿大时, 你计算从今天起向前推算五年,在这五年时间内你是否在加拿大住满了两年,如果yes,你就有资格合法进入加拿大(也就是你具有永久居民资格). 如果你获得永久居民资格不到五年,则从现在起假设你一直在加拿大居住到你从获得移民资格时起满五年,你是否能在加拿大居住满两年(包括以前在加拿大居住的时间).如果yes,则允许你入境. 和你什么时候领枫叶卡无关. 只是一般过海关时,如果你的枫叶卡未满五年,海关一般不会查你.(但也有人被问的,要求他进来后不能在出去拉).
