[问题] Bayshore Elementary Public school

We are looking at renting in Bayshore area, but have no idea how its
elementary school is.

Would be very much appreciated, if anyone could provide info/comments on the school.

That is a really bad school in my opinion. Lots of refugee's kids there.

This is a very typical discrimination comment.

Actually the school is prety good for new immigrants. The school is unique in these areas:
1. It shares different cultures from the world.
2. Begining grade 4, your kid has an opportunity to join the Viva Choir. If he/she likes it, he/she can attend the Ottawa Children's Choir. If he/she is very good, he/she can join the Ottawa Children's Chamber Choir.
3. Usually Chinese kids outperform in the school. They gain confident in the class. Some of them become gifted students. Pay more attention on his school performance in grade 3. If your kid become a gifited student, he/she can select several best elementary schools in Ottawa in grade 5, such as Broadview. And you don't need to worry about his transportation. The school will arrange the school bus for your child wherever you live.
You don't expect your kid learn a lot before grade 5. Enter the gifted program is a big gain for his/her whole school years.

没什么好奇怪的，如果中国孩子在那种学校里还不能outperform，建议评估一下IQ

For early French immersion the elementry school is lakeview which is not bad.Lake view has gifted program. Both bayshore public and lakeview student will go to D.A mooodie for grade 6-8. D.A moodie is the feeder school for Bell's corner high which has a gifted class. Bayshore public is an elementry school. The grade is not too good because there is many new immigrants. But many teachers are good.For grade 5 child how bad they could be. And your kid will go to Bell's corner anyway. Bell's corner is consided a good school. Since all the house belongs to MINTO. MINTO does detail background check before rent you the house. Most resident are hardworking honest man. A few years ago,most resident were high tech worker. The place may be low income like all the rental property. But it is not a bad place.
