Finalwinner这个网名是为联邦大选而注册的。大选后，本想刀抢入（车）库，马（甲）放南山。至少下次联邦大选之前不想再出山。但是经不住朋友的劝说，为了11月13日的渥汰华市长和市议员的竞选，只好提前出山。受渥汰华市长竞选人拉瑞－欧－布莱恩（Larry O’Brien）的竞选办公室的委托，我把拉瑞的竞选声明贴在此，并提供中文译文。如有出入，请以英文原文为准。

我是拉瑞－欧－布莱恩（Larry O’Brien），我竞选渥汰华市市长
我祖上于加拿大建国前落户在渥汰华地区。我本人在渥汰华出生，成长,接受教育,抚养我的子女,并且建立了和运营着一个有国际竞争力的企业。在社区一级，我也努力工作，为本市的发展作出了贡献。我对渥汰华有着深厚的感情，确信渥汰华是世界上最适合居住，工作和投资的城市。
如同越来越多的渥汰华市民一样, 我之所以加入角逐市长的行列 是因为我相信我们需要一个真正的改变。一个不同于包博和阿例斯（Bob Chiarelli or Alex Munter）所代表的政客们所说的改变。
和以上两位相反，我不是个职业政治家。我是个平民候选人。我像您一样了解这个城市，像您一样为现任市政府的所作所为而担心。他们对具有着长远影响的主要基础设施的决策是随心所欲，在秘密地，和排他性的环境下做出的。市政府的开支增加了35%，但是人们对市政府的满意程度却每况愈下。自从合并市区以来，渥汰华的人口仅增加6%，但是您的地税却增加了18%。税越交越多，但是得到的服务却越来越少。
由于地产税的重负，不断有老年市民因此而丧失其住宅。有1万5千家困难户在排队等待住上经济适用房。与此同时，渥汰华现存的住房需要价值约5亿加元的修缮工作。市民们对居住环境缺乏安全感。郊区居民感到他们被排除在市政生活之外。
传统的市长候选人多把责任推到其他人身上，例如指责省政府。他们玩弄着政治权术。这个城市亟待真正的领导人。
如果我荣幸地当选为您的市长，我保证有个真正的改变。市政府将急市民之所急。
－ 真实的减轻赋税，让您的赋税得到真实的价值；
－ 社区治安的改善；
－ 以创新的方法来提供市政府的服务；
在今后几周竞选活动中，我会陆续公布我将如何与新市议会共同为您服务的工作计划。
渥汰华是个很好的城市。我坚信她将成为一个更好的城市。

I am Larry O’Brien and I am running for Mayor of Ottawa
The O’Brien family has lived in the Ottawa area since before Confederation (amalgamation). I was born and educated here, raised my family here, founded and run an international competitive business here, and worked hard at a community level to see this city succeed. I am passionate about Ottawa and know it can be the best city in the world to live, work and invest.
I came into this race because ? like more and more citizens across Ottawa ? I believe we need a real alternative to the politics-as-usual represented by either Bob Chiarelli or Alex Munter.
Unlike them, I am not a career politician. I am a citizen candidate. Someone who knows this city and who shares your frustration with a City hall that is all over the map. Major infrastructure decisions with long term impact are made in haphazard, secretive and non-inclusive way. Municipal spending has bone up nearly 35%, while satisfaction with City Hall is down. Ottawa has grown 6% since amalgamation, yet your taxes have gone up 18%. You are paying more, getting less.
More and more of our senior citizens are being taxed out of their homes. Over 11,500 families in our city languish on a waiting list for affordable housing , while over $500 million in repairs to existing housing are left undone. Citizens feel unsafe in their neighbourhoods. Rural communities feel disenfranchised.
The traditional candidates point the finger elsewhere and say the blame lies with the province. They practice the polities-of-excuses. This City is crying out for real leadership.
If I have the honour of being elected your Mayor, I promise real change. A City government focused on your priorities:
- real tax relief and real value for your tax dollars
- safe communities
- innovative alternative ways to deliver the levels of services that your pay for
Over the next few weeks of this campaign I will be rolling out specific plans on how I intend to work with the new City Council to achieve the results that you deserve.
Ottawa is a good city. I believe that it can be great city!
Ottawa deserves real change. That is why I am asking for your vote on Novermber 13th.
This election you have a real choice…make your “Larry O’Brien for Mayor…for real change”.
