Make sure you don't get mixed with the same Chinese store name 真光眼镜
The original 真光眼镜 is now called Tri Optical.

My understanding is that the franchise fee of LAURIER OPTICAL is way too expensive for the owner (池先生) to renew. So, he owns a store of his own. When 池先生 opens his own store (Tri Optical), he continues to use the Chinese store name 真光眼镜. However, in Canada, Chinese trading name can't be registered and is not protected. In view of this, Laurier Optical franchise uses 池先生's designed trading name and operates its new franchise store as 真光眼镜 just to confuse customers.
When 池先生's 真光眼镜 (operated under Laurier Optical) was first opened, I went there to buy prescribed glasses. I really like 池先生's service. 池先生 has been in optical business for many years. He is very good adjusting our glasses. However, I later on stopped going to LAURIER Optical 真光眼镜 for many years because of the following reasons:
#1 - we found the non-reflective and non-scrathy coating not very good after a year.
#2 - Laurier Optical's lab made a mistake in my 2nd glasses. The glasses wasn't adjusted as per my prescription (my optician checked my glasses and told me that lab didn't do a good job). My boss's wife also had to send her glasses back for re-adjustment. She had headache for 2 weeks because of the new glasses.
I went to check out 池先生's Tri Optical 真光眼镜. I found that they have more brand name glasses with more selection. The styles are very updated. My son bought a pair of Oakley and Ray Ben sun glasses there. My friend's son also bought a prescribed Oakley glasses (those you can find in Toronto's Pacific Mall).
In Ottawa, I think Tri Optical 真光眼镜 is the only optical store that you can find so many selection of brand name glasses.
