大统华终于要在Ottawa开店了？！

以前没注意，最近经过两次，发现建筑进展很快，只隔了五天，就大不一样。看来去大统华买菜吃饭的日子指日可待。建议中国餐馆老板考虑在这里建分店，像多伦多太古广场一样形成一个华人商业中心，以后就不必再去又脏又乱的唐人街啦。

And why do you think the current 唐人街 又脏又乱?

The number of 大统华 fanboys and fangirls here just beat the hack out of me. All you people think it is the second coming of God. And for some reasons, you all think 大统华 is going to raise your profile in Ottawa.

If you new comers from China feel shameful going to 唐人街, then stay home and don't come out, lablaw have enough Chinese food for you.

We old Chinese work extremely hard for the last 30-40 years to make it the way it is so that you people have an easier life, so don't bitch.

So it is extremely clean in China then? Being old fashion, I am proud of China Town and will continue to shop there, in Tororto, Ottawa or Vancouver.

As I said in my earlier post, most of the Chinese stores are family run business, they don't have the big pocket fundings to have the stores like 大统华, so it is shameful? Like I said, if you don't like China town, then go shop at Lablaw, where you could keep your head high.

Also, did you see me praising Toronto? And on the contrary, some of you feel backward in Ottawa because there is no 大统华 here. And oops, you actually prove my point, move to Toronto if you only want to shop at 大统华.

个人感觉现在的唐人街其实不算唐人街。。。主要店面被大量的东南亚超市以及越南饭馆占领。
部分商店只要竞争力出现明显问题，就很容易出现＂火灾＂等事情，对唐人街的印象力没有提升作用

唐人街超市比较脏的话，其实有些时候我觉得有部分因素是因为场地跟灯光的问题，可以看看０８年前的billings bridge的超市。场地设计有问题，灯光昏暗，后来新owner接收以后，重新装修了一下，明亮了许多，顾客感觉上也多了不少
我是在billings bridge那个超市装修结束前在那里打工过。老外超市跟唐人街超市他们的管理方面有很大区别，这些都是连锁的，他们的食品，尤其是deli方面的食物，快要过期的话是要丢掉的
他们的进货渠道统一，配货还有物价因为连锁的因素，所以价格比较低廉.这个跟现有的ottawa的２个超市是有本质的区别的
某些方面其实跟中国同胞的饮食习惯有关系的, 供货渠道不广，供货商基本就是垄断
此外ottawa不是进口货物集散地，这类运费也会附加进去的，然后我们这里华人超市少，没有竞争，自然整体物价高了，谁不想多赚点？

None of the Chinese stores here could be classified as 超市, so it is a stretch.

I don't believe 大统华 is going to make it here in the long run, Ottawa just don't have enough Chinese to make a profit unless they also target other races. I have doubt on that regard too because other races just don't go into a store they perceive as Chinese's.

Take a look at the 大统华 Toronto stores there, you may see 5-10 non-Chinese at any single time.

This so-called "Chinatown" is complete mess

If you think that Chinatown is not "又脏又乱", you should have your eyes checked. It is dirty, chaotic and the shops are all unhygienic. This so-called Chinatown is not really Chinese anyway: most of the shopkeepers and inhabitants are from Indochina.

Your bunch of so-called "Old Chinese" came to Canada to have the first world delivered to your doorstep when we worked hard in Asia to build our societies. Westerners give you respect because of our achievement, not because of you lots who came here to sit on the dole!

There is an T&T store in Edmonton as well. How many Asians are there in Edmonton?

Calgary has two T&T stores even before 2002. At that time, its population was less then 800,000. And the chinese population was less as well. And the city was not as rich as it is now.

Anyways, I am not trying to argue with you but to list some facts to support my point that it is time for them to open one here since they have successfully landed in Toronto area
