(求助）窗户安装 issues

A contractor installed a new 窗户 (pictures attached) in my basement
to replace an old damaged window.

What do you think about the window and the installation ?

Is the installation compliant with the building code ?

for replace old one will no problem. If open a new one, you have to get permission from city hall.

There is an old window there before in the same frame location. So it is OK to install a new one. Thanks.

Is this window installed in the correct way ? I can see that the nails
just simply touched the both sites. 急，谢谢了.

You need call the contractor, tell him your concern. You may ask him to add 2 wood board.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Another thing is that my old window has about 24" hight for the
glasses, but the new window has only about 14.5" high glasses.

The difference is that the old window is aluminum and the new window is Vinyl.

The contrctor said the reduction is due to that my window is too wide
(each slider is 33" wide).

Does the glass size for the Vinyl window need to be reduced so much
compared with the aluminum window ? 谢谢！

Thanks a lot.

But, the problem is that I already agreed this contractor to do the
work before and this contractor also did some other things for me.

The installing the window is tempoarily stopped now as I have
concerns regarding the way it is installed and the reduced glass size.

I would appreciate if some comments can be provided regarding this installation way or the reduced glass size. 谢谢了。
