The union has absolutely no intention of an early ending on any reasonable term. Keeping that in mind, we should appreciate the importance of getting the facts straight. Only after then, we could possibly weight different options on an informed manner.
I am prepared to stay off the buses as long as it takes. However, I do think it is the city's obligation to take measures to ease the traffic jam and also find alternatives for those in need.

Ottawa transit union seeks arbitration to end strike
Ottawa's striking transit workers are willing to end their strike as soon as Monday — if the City of Ottawa will agree to certain conditions. However, they declined to reopen negotiations under new conditions proposed by the city.
Randy Graham, international vice-president of the Amalgamated Transit Union said Friday, the 38th day of the strike, that members of ATU 279 are willing to return to work without knowing what their new contract will be, provided the city:
The City of Ottawa said it is studying the offer, and city council was to discuss it at a special closed-door meeting scheduled for 9 p.m.

Early Saturday morning, council unanimously approved a motion stating the city will enter binding arbitration — on three conditions. Council said they will enter the process if the union agrees that （1）all issues, including scheduling, are part of it; （2）that any final agreement addresses federal safety rules for drivers on hours of work and rest; （3）and that the price tag of any agreement doesn’t exceed the overall amount represented in the city’s last offer, which was rejected by union members nine days ago.
看来这顿饭既然上了火，就得做熟，不能夹生了。以市府的方案，即使做熟饭对市民来说也就是凑合吃饱这顿。
如果能达到以下解决方案之一，那才是美味大餐：
（1）重组 OCT，新公司提供 ESSENTIAL SERVICE；
（2）取消 OCT，BUS 公司私营化，市府提供监督和资助；
不然的话，市民还得在ATU279的威胁下生活。
