想请教一个车保险的问题！

我在多伦多，我的车保险9月13就到期了，因为我想准备卖车，所以想叫保险公司到了9月13号就不要再renew我的车保险了。但我不知道卖车的话需要不需要车还持有有效的保险，没有保险的车能卖吗？谢谢

Before you buy a new car, call your insurance agent to get you a quote to see how much the new car insurance will cost you. Then you tell them when you will getting the new car, the insurance will mail you the new insurance card for your new car.

That is. Nothing to it. No need to cancel your old policy and start a new one. You can do this anytime you like.

You can call your insurance company to cancel the policy. If you already paid the amount, you will get refund for unused portion.

There is no need to have insurance for either selling or buying a car. Just simple like this, without an insurance, nobody can drive that car. For buyers, they can't register the license plate for the car w/o insurance.

So, for you, you definitely don't want to renew that policy. After 9/13, you can still sell the car to anyone, but who may need to get insurance at first to test-drive the car, or buy it directly w/o test-drive
