Question: Vacuum for berber carpet

I am going to move in a new house with berber carpet. Can someone share the experience of vacuum good for this particular carpet? What brand is it and where to buy?

I have a $300 vacuum now, but my research show that it will eventually demage berber carpet. Thanks!
