Help:谁在CANADIAN TIRE退过Snowblower或同它打官司的经验---刚被这家黑店忽悠了?

We bought a snowblower, Yardwork YW277cc26" (product #060-3753-6), at Canadian Tire Barrhaven Store (in Ottawa, store #442) on Dec 29, 2009.

1. When the store employee recommended this snowerblower to us, he told us the 4-year limited warranty carries the on-site repair service

2. Canadian Tire Warranty for this product posted on their website is“This product carries a 7-day over-the-counter service warranty against initial defect” (see the link: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/2/OutdoorLiving/2/PowerEquipment/Snowthrowers/PRD~0603753P/Yardworks%2B277%2Bcc%2B%252B%2B26-in%2BPowermore%253F%2BOHV%2BSnowthrower.jsp )

3. When we paid at the cashier, we asked about the warranty and were told the store will follow the promised Warranty Sheet which was packed with the manual. The warranty sheet lists 3 warranty:
1st, Return Policy—it can be returned due to manufacturer’s defect;
2nd, Replacement Warranty—if a defect is found within 7 days and the problem cannot be resolved over the phone, it can be returned to the store;
3rd, Repair Warranty—if the customer suspect a defect past the replacement warranty period and it cannot be resolved over the phone, the service adviser will direct you to your nearest authorized repair depot.

4. On the back of the receipt it shows “to return an item for exchange or refund, bring it to any Canadian Tire store within 90 days, in its original condition and packaging, with your receipt”

On Jan 2, we followed all the instructions on the operation manuals and tried to used it, it did not work. The problem is that after we set the shift level (we already tried different levels) then squeeze the control grip against the handle (to engage the wheel drive), it does not move (either backward or forward) at all. My husband called the manufacture Yardwork service line but the problem could not be solved over the phone. We also asked our neighbours who were operating their snowblowers at that time help us check if we operated correctly and we were told we did operate correctly.

We went to Canadian Tire Barrhaven Store the same day, Jan 2, 2010. The customer service denied the return policy and refused to return it. They said they could exchange or on-site repair. Since the return policy is clearly shown on the warranty sheet, we told the store that we just want to return. The store on duty manager told us that if we want to return, we must call the manufacture Yardworks service line 1-866-523-5218 (which only open Jan 4) to get a “Return Authorization number” then refused to deal with us any more.

This afternoon (Jan 4th), we brought the 230 lbs snowerblower back to the store, in its original condition (we did not use it as it does not work at all) with receipt and warranty sheet. The store on duty manager refused the return & replacement warranty and on-site repair. He refused to provide anything in writing regarding the explanation or the warranty policies. He even refused to provide anything in writing that we contact the store the store regarding the warranty issue today (within 7 days). He told us he only gave us 2 options, either leave the snowblower at the store for repair and assessment (if it is a manufacture defect) or bring it back home. Finally he called the policy. After 3 policemen came, the store on duty manager still denied the return policy and replacement warranty. He insisted that we need to leave the snowerblower at the store then the store sends to its authorized local repair centre to do assessment and repair. We left the snowblower at the store for assessment but we mentioned that we did not accept the repair.
Now, we are still thinking about going to the court.
 
I thought you only need to say "I don't like it"....
 
CANADIAN TIRE ?不用说了,一定是Barrhaven的,超烂的哟。

除非你比他们更横,否则自求多福吧。

虽说要支持国货或本地商店,但是买东西到加拿大公司确实不行,美国背景的公司就好的多,Sears, Costco, Future Shop, Bust Buy等等。
 
CT不是可以90天内无条件退货吗?难道东西有故障就不能退了?

The problem is that after we squeeze the control grip against the handle (to engage the wheel drive), it does not move (either backward or foarward) at all.

We spent more than 2 hours to contact the store to return the machine but was told need to contact the manufacture which will only open Jan 4 to get a return authorization number. We will contact the manufacture on Monday for sure but do not know if we can get the returen authorization number or not. Because of the defect, we do not want to get a replacement as we do not know if it has the same defect problem or not.

Who has successful return experience?

90天内无条件退货?但是还有小字说解释权在它。这是个吸引你去他们那里买东西的噱头,兑不兑现就看他是否乐意了。
没故障他们也不会退,理由千万种,目的只一个。10~50刀的小东西他们还要查电话地址等等一堆东西,200刀以上的东西,赫赫,你自己试试去吧。

Not a big problem. A rubber belt inside is loose or broken. Open it and put the belt back , it would work. There are two belts in it. One for thrower, one for movement . They are not strongest thing in the world.
 
那我在Barrhaven Canadian Tire 的遭遇还真是挺lucky的。忘了是08年还是09年,我那用了一年多的电动锄草机不能动了,一开电源还有一股胡味,我想大概是烧了。居然找出了收据,而且我记得当时买的时候产品的广告上说有两年的warranty,心想他们会不会可以给我免费维修,于是抱着试试看的心理拿着收据去CT问,customer service的那个女孩扫描了我的收据说我的warranty还有大约一个多月到期,让我把锄草机拿过来。我想让我拿过来就是可以免费修了,于是赶紧回家取锄草机。由于包装箱早扔了,只好推着它回到CT。没想到不是免费修理,而是全额把钱退给我,税后300多,让我惊讶不已。是不是他们现在的很多条例都变了。
 
回家乐去吧,仅此一件就足够你乐好几年了,你比数千人Lucky。不知道给你退货的那位伙计后来被开除了没有。

BTW, I found the "product reviews" on Canadian Tire's website are all the positive review screened by the store. They never allow you to post negative review. I posted several negative review for some products I bought but these review never shown! They are cheating!
 
找厂家你就傻掉了。蠢。
他们至少让你邮去,而且要付足来回邮费,然后等个一年半载修理,到时候黄花菜都凉了,而且花的钱比买个新的还贵。
当然是找店家了,店家不行,还有法庭呢,收据上的90天return policy就是铁证据。厂家是永远不可能退货的,只会“修理”。
你又不是从厂家买的东西,找他们干什么。

你是拿着收据亲自上门的还是打电话要求退货的?另外你买的时候产品应该有至少一年的warranty。你可以拿着收据再去试试,既然你收据上的退货条款写的很清楚,就可以据理力争,但不用上去就拉开吵架的姿态。如果柜台上的人坚持不给你退,就要找经理出来,但一般商店的经理更难缠,你要有思想准备。
 
我去BARRHAVEN的CT退过和更换超过150的货,不过是二年前的事情,没有什么问题,去退货一定要把东西搬过去,而且最好把东西重新放回去原来的包装里面去。 不要打电话去问可不可以。
