Testing does not mean anything
The testing just tells you that the grade 12 student will get the same score as this kid on reading those materials. It DOES not mean his reading capability is grade 12 yet. Same for math.
Ottawa has gifted program and the parents should have him/her tested to see if can reach the criteria to be in gifted program. Going to school is not just learning academic stuff, there are so many things to learn - social, sports, etc.
If this kid is in regular program and might be a little advanced in his class academically, would that be possible that he can not get along with his classmates? Is that possible he/she may not be good in other aspects that classmates consider him/her as nurd that he does not like to go to school? This is just some guessing for parents to keep on eye on. Usually a kid does not like to go to school, it is not because he is leading academically, it is because he is only leading academically, but a little weaker on other subjects.
