谁在自家门口得到Parking ticket？
家里有两辆车停在drive way，星期六因要用里面的车，就停了外面的车在马路上（就在自己家的窗前，是很宽的路，没有任何标志，经常有车停在两边）。下午回家后就发现车窗上有个 City of Ottawa 的ticket。见鬼了，周末停车自家门口会得 ticket。是不是穷疯了？我每月交的地税白交了。那以后有朋友开车来都不敢久留人家了，这叫什么事啊？有没有人得到过类似的 ticket？我可以不理她吗？

很多地方，特别是居民小区是可以OVERNIGHT PARKING的，很多人就这么做，不是一天两天，是年年天天这样。即使DOWNTOWN，NAC旁边也可以在冬天OVERNIGHT PARKING。村长给找找相关条款。
顺便说下，以上所举例子为亲自经历或亲眼所见

上面的链接进去看看就知道了。

除了冬季下雪天（预报降雪量超过7cm)或者要清雪（插牌子），过夜(1:00 am - 7:00 am）停车是没有问题的。（其他季节当然没有问题。）

规定是：7:00 am-7:00 pm停车时间限制为3小时；其他时间不限。我说了，“没有人查，停2天也没有问题；有人查，超过3小时就发单。”

EXTRACT FROM GENERAL REGULATIONS OF BY-LAW 2003-530

Parking Prohibited - Whether Signs Have Been Erected or Not:

1. In excess of three (3) hours between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.;
2. within 300 metres of previous parking space within one (1) hour;
3. within 9 metres of an intersection;
4. within 3 metres of a fire hydrant;
5. within 1.5 metres of a driveway;
6. on a roadway which is 6 metres or less in width;
7. on any portion of a highway not intended for vehicle parking;
8. during snow removal and street sweeping operations;
9. angle parking is permitted on a highway where the angle has been designated by signsor markings on the roadway;
10. no person shall remain parked on any highway where there are parking meters unless such vehicle is parked entirely within the area designated as a parking meter space.

Stopping Prohibited - Whether Signs Have Been Erected or Not:

1. within a pedestrian crossover, within 30 metres of the approach side of a pedestrian crossover or within 15 metres of the leaving side of a pedestrian crossover;
2. within 34 metres of the approach side of a bus stop and within 18 metres of the leaving side of a bus stop;
3. within an intersection or crosswalk;
4. between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. within 30 metres of the approach side of a school crosswalk and within 10 metres of the leaving side of a school crosswalk and within 10 metres of the leaving side of a school crosswalk;
5. upon a bridge, within an underpass or within 30 metres of any such structure unless parking is otherwise permitted by signs;
6. on or partly on or over a sidewalk;
7. on the right side of the travelled portion of the highway, having regard to the direction in which the vehicle was travelling, with its right front and rear wheels parallel to and not more than 15 centimetres away from such a curb.

Winter overnight parking regulations

Winter overnight parking regulations are in effect throughout the city from November 15 to April 1, permitting the City to clear the way for you. This means that you cannot park on City streets between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. when a snow accumulation of 7 cm or more is forecast by Environment Canada in the Ottawa area. This includes any forecast for a range of snow of more than 7 cm, for example 5 to 10 cm. Vehicles that remain parked on the street during an overnight parking restriction will be ticketed. On-street parking permit holders are exempt from this restriction.
When Environment Canada forecasts a snow accumulation of 7 cm or more, the City automatically initiates an enforcement of winter overnight parking restrictions. To inform residents and motorists, a special advisory is issued to the local media announcing that an overnight parking restriction is in effect. All special advisories are posted online in the City's newsroom. Enforcement of winter overnight parking restrictions will continue each evening until snow clearing is completed and the City issues a special advisory indicating that the overnight parking restriction has been lifted.

If you are unable to find your vehicle on your own, call the Ottawa Police Service at:

All towed vehicles are logged and Ottawa Police Services will be able to tell you the location of your vehicle.

家里有两辆车停在drive way，星期六因要用里面的车，就停了外面的车在马路上（就在自己家的窗前，是很宽的路，没有任何标志，经常有车停在两边）。下午回家后就发现车窗上有个 City of Ottawa 的ticket。见鬼了，周末停车自家门口会得 ticket。是不是穷疯了？我每月交的地税白交了。那以后有朋友开车来都不敢久留人家了，这叫什么事啊？有没有人得到过类似的 ticket？我可以不理她吗？

如果不是小区内的主要通道，一般情况下by-law officer不会去enforce那个三小时停车规定。但是，如果有人打电话给他们，抱怨的话，那告票是肯定能拿到。
