昨早去渥大听讲座，路过中国城时，见到两个老人在被警察盘问。老人不懂英文。我停车下来，问警察：“Do you need help in translation?" 两警察面色立马转晴！。。。细节就不讲了。

两个老人在收集垃圾中的瓶子被人告非法入宅。老人直呼冤枉。可警察对我讲：“人人都会叫冤。”我又问警察可否在街边的垃圾捅中捡瓶子？警察说理论上不行，但他们可以不管。

我为两老向两警官求情，大约半小时后警官们高兴地放行两老。但要求我用名片担保两老下不违例！

今早看到以上报道，只想到一句古诗：本是同根生，相煎何太急？

I hope that Ottawa Chinese Seniors' Association will change their policy to ensure that no pamphlets for other religions are allowed to be distributed to members of the associatioin. If any members violate the policy and rules, the member's membership can be stopped at any time. This will protect the assocation from being sued in the future. This is simply an association for gathering.
