今天白天天气晴好，傍晚有阵雨。EHS的人又没露面。已联系上EHS的owner，居然对本条街的情况全不知情。不过EHS的owner答应尽快查清此事，争取早日完工。

团座，今天都9月13日了，EHS仍然没露面！而且没给我们任何工期方面的消息。合着昨天跟Marcell都白说了，是不是真拿我们耍着玩？今天回来得太晚了，没法再给Marcell打电话了，但EHS必须要给我们个说法了。

我昨天打电话问的时候说星期3安排了人过来，没来吗？

今天晴转阴，偶尔有毛毛雨。EHS的碎石设备9:30AM到场，2:30PM离开。其主要作用是击碎大块石头，但由于臂长有限，其功效受到限制。初步测量后发现有些洞最深处已达3尺，但直径只有10cm，即碎石钢杵的直径。下一步是要将洞扩大到埋桩的程度。

一个值得注意的问题是：其实地下并没有大岩石，刨出的石头都只有成人拳头大小，而且也不是所有的洞都有石头。碎石设备留下的痕迹中也没有发现大岩石的存在。既然只是碎石，为什么会这么费劲？

阿土的容忍深度是3尺，Ontario building code 的底线。

关于深度我email询问了city，得到答复是没有相关规定，但我觉得保险起见如果下面是石头的，还是尽量应该让他们挖到3尺。

我昨天打电话问的时候说星期3安排了人过来，没来吗？

昨天，9月14日，EHS运来水泥和post，在中断了一周之后继续挖洞。不过阿土院内所有洞中目前只有1个够3尺深。经过协商EHS表示只有在房主验证深度之后才会灌水泥。

不管怎么说，还是有进展。

关于深度我email询问了city，得到答复是没有相关规定，但我觉得保险起见如果下面是石头的，还是尽量应该让他们挖到3尺。

谢谢团座的体恤。深度的问题不是阿土亲自查的，是邻居Sami调查后发给大家的。其主要问题是冻土层，如果深度低于3尺，冬季冻结的土会把post推向地表，夏季post又会因土质解冻而下沉。如此上上下下，post不能固定，很容易歪斜倾倒。所以业界最低要求是3尺深，EHS的标准是44寸。

当然，有一种情况例外。如果地下是大块条石，直接将post固定在条石上，哪怕只有一尺深也不会有什么问题。但阿土的院子里没有这种情况，所以阿土的容忍底线是3尺深。

9月15日 - 今天出现重大纠纷！

EHS的 site manager 在洞深不够的情况下，无视双方“由房主签字认可洞深”的书面协议，擅自将水泥灌入大约20个洞中，造成既成事实的结果。此举立刻产生重大纠纷，至少涉及4个家庭。

目前两位组织者正在积极调解，寻找解决方案。希望可以尽快妥善解决，但前景不太乐观。

This is horrible...

Just a guess, EHS probably made a firm decision on how to finish the work for your guys; and they know how to fight with you guys without satisfying your bottom-line. You should think about how to deal the worst scenario and start preparing for a fight to maximum your own interest or at least satisfy your bottom-line. Negotiation is not going work.

I asked a home inspector about fence post depth and related building codes and regulations. He said that fences are not covered in the Building Codes and he is not aware of any regulations. He suggested that I contact the City to see if there's any by-laws. But based on Cobalt's post, the City doesn't seem to regulate fence posts either.

Perhaps the 3-foot limit is simply an industry practice and not a code requirement.

I'm not a home inspector nor am I familiar with building codes, but I would suggest that you look into that more...

On the other hand, if there is a written agreement between you and EHS in that the depth of the holes need to be inspected by the home owners before EHS is allowed to pour concrete, then what they did yesterday violated a contractual obligation. But even that, negotiation should still precede agrument.

It seems a serious problem...given the fact I am going to build my fence next year, I am going to ask one of my white friends who was employee in one of the largest landscape companies in GTA.

不是说了星期一两个owner都会在场监工，我们也会尽量到场一起帮你解决嘛？

但你得给我们个底线，已经有水泥的洞，2尺8寸你是不是肯定接受不了，一定要他们推掉重挖？

关于工人不遵守规定的问题我们也会再次给他们警告，公司监管制度实在让人操心，在这些行业要找一个100%靠谱的太难了。

但你得给我们个底线，已经有水泥的洞，2尺8寸你是不是肯定接受不了，一定要他们推掉重挖？

对于已经灌注水泥的洞，不够3尺的必须重挖。1尺=12寸而非10寸，3尺=36寸，如同我们书面约定的那样，得到确认后才可灌水泥。

关于工人不遵守规定的问题我们也会再次给他们警告，公司监管制度实在让人操心，在这些行业要找一个100%靠谱的太难了。

最早我就试图和EHS确定打桩时间，请假在家陪着他们，有电邮为证。但他们很聪明，就是不说什么时候做我家的，而且拖了20多天，搞得我请的假都白费了。

而且他们真是有恃无恐。14日上午他们放打桩材料的时候，我已经有预感，于是通过VIP-GROUP-BUY leader 联系EHS Owner，得到的答复是：“签字认可后EHS才会灌水泥。” 但我还不放心，于是以电邮的形式通知EHS不可在我没验证前灌水泥，他们的回答是：“Hello XXX XX, No holes will be filled until you sign that you agree to proceed with posting. If you do not wish to proceed that is entirely up to you. You are most welcome. Andrew"
我自信我能做到避免纠纷的都做到了，EHS应对此事负全责。
