回风管道的问题

我发现地下室有部分回风的管道，有挺多的部分是用铁皮直接把2个横梁封起来做为回风的管道，而不是独立的铁皮管道，这个符合building code吗？

did you have a chance to see the cold air return duct in your first/second floor? just two studs & drywalls. i guess the return air duct doesn't care too much about leakage. for energy star homes only ducts for outgoing duct from furnace and hrv ducts need to be sealed.
