"4 weeks, with a family of 2 adult and 1 kids. Visited 9 countries, cost about $10,000"
这是哪年的事? 什么季节?
2005 August, if you time right, you can try running with the bulls, it was something you will remember for a long time. The hotel is extremely expensive, around 400 Euro per night.
Here's the route I took. landed in London England (4 days), took Eurostar to Paris(5 days), took my daughter to Euro Disney while wife went shopping, did all the tourist sites. Most memorable thing was picnic in Elysee palace, with champagne and snacks.
Picked up the car drove to Bruges, Belgium (3 days). We end up in Bruges because I thought it was the capital city of Belgium, of course I was wrong, but it is a very nice little tourist town. Most memorable thing was got lost diving 3 in the morning, can't find anybody speak English and the street with extremely long names.
Stopped at Amsterdam Netherlands, walked by their red district. Walked around for 2 hours and still couldn't find a weed house. Most memorable thing was they have more bicycles than Beijing.
Drove through Germany at 230+ KM/hour at their freeway, still have cars pass me by. Bought some German sausage. Most memorable thing was trying to record on my camera while driving at 230KM/h.
Next to Austria( cause our daughter loved "the sounds of music") stayed in Vienna for 3 days. I was surprised how many Chinese are artists drawing portraits there, guess we just don't see that in Ottawa.
Then went to FLorence Itly (2days), told by a couple from Taiwai that there are some of the best ice cream in the world, and church took 400 years to build.
Venice ( 3 days) the most beautiful place of this trip. Most memorable was people were so nice, offered free ice cream to my daughter. We were treated very well everywhere we went.
Rome (5 days), totally amazed what people built 2000 years ago, way beyond what China have done, in term of engineering. Totally shocked!
Pisa passed by, the tower is still standing.and we end up in a small town beside the ocean, I still don't know the name, but it was beautiful. All the houses with red tops (3days)) Don't think they ever had any Chinese visited that place, we certainly didn't see any Asian while we were there. guess it's too small to be visible on the map.
Drove though France to catch running with the bulls in Pamplona (2days), got scratched by the bull, damn bulls looked a lot bigger in person than in the pictures. Most memorable are the people on the street, all cheerful, drunk and wearing white cloth and red belt.
Then drove back to Paris, returned the car, fly back to Canada.
I didn't plan the route until I arrived in London, I had a copy of "lonely planet Europe" and basically went with our feelings of wherever we wanted to go, plan 1 day ahead of there we want to stay. it was a great trip, too bad my daughter couldn't remember much of the trip, she was 5.
