Fire destroys bungalow in southeast Ottawa

OTTAWA — City firefighters responded Thursday evening to a house fire 3321 Trim Rd., south of Navan Road. Preliminary information for the 7:45 p.m. fire indicated that a single family bungalow was involved. Fire crews arriving at the single-family bungalow shortly after the blaze was called in at 7:45 p.m. reported the basement in flames and smoke pouring out of the roof soffits. A fire service spokesman said a woman and children in the house escaped and the fire was soon brought under control.
