Dying woman’s disabled daughter gets spot in group home

A dying Ottawa mother who is too sick to care for her developmentally disabled adult daughter got a piece of good news this week: Her daughter has a spot in a group home. Cindy Gibson, who is in the final stages of cancer, spent part of the week packing some of her daughter’s belongings — including stuffed animals and toys — and meeting with social workers to prepare for the move.
