MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police are seeking public assistance in identifying a body recovered from the Gatineau River at the Chelsea dam on June 4.
The deceased is caucasian, about five feet 10 inches tall, with greyish hair.
He was found wearing a dark jacket with the inscription “Taekwondo Gatineau,” blues jeans and Converse brand shoes, with a white edge on the side.
The victim also had a pendant with a U.S. 50-cent-piece medallion, as well as a silver ring with the inscription “MHS.”
Investigators are also trying to establish a possible link between the victim and a red 16-foot canoe recovered at the same location a month earlier.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det.-Sgt. Patrick Tremblay at 819-459-2422, ext. 3286.
