rap是hiphop文化中的一部分，hiphop文化是DJ，break-dance和MC的组合。
rap不一定是骂人，也不一定要带脏话。rap的歌词就是想到哪儿唱到哪儿，不用考虑什么修辞，也不用考虑会侵犯到什么人。rap唱的是心里的感受，不像有些音乐短短的几句歌词翻来覆去的唱，我实在是不知道那样有什么听头。有些好的rap在听众听完了之后会有感触，所以rap表达的是一种思想，MC们唱rap为了表达他们自己的感受，并不是为了炫耀自己的乐器玩的有多好，或是声音有多好听。事实上MC的要求并不高，只要有写歌的灵感和练习就行了。rap很简单，不用什么乐器，只要有一个人用嘴哼出或是“吹”出一个节奏，MC就可以跟着唱。
