Gatineau police arrested seven teenagers from the West Quebec region Tuesday after an investigation into drug use around École Polyvalente Nicolas-Gatineau high school.
Police said they had received several complaints from residents saying the woods around the school had become a favourite hangout for teens smoking drugs.
Investigators raided the spot Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. and arrested the youths, aged 14 to 16. All were students at Nicolas-Gatineau.
A small amount of hashish was found and seized, but only three of the teens will face individual possession charges.
The other four were judged to be in “joint possession” of a small amount of drugs and were released with an official warning.
