Two teens are facing charges after "unrelated" threats prompted the lockdown of schools in Rockland twice on Thursday, Ontario Provincial Police said.
In the first incident, a 17-year-old boy allegedly threatened to hurt a student with a weapon inside a high school Thursday morning, prompting the first round of lockdowns.
He was arrested, police said.
Later in the day, reports of a teen walking around town with a gun prompted a second round of lockdowns at six nearby schools, police said.
A second 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with that incident, police said.
The names of the two teens have not been released due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
