Ottawa police have charged two 18-year-olds and a young offender in connection with a swarming robbery near Billings Bridge Wednesday night.

Police said a 16-year-old boy was attacked and knocked to the ground by three young men on Bank Street at about 7:30 p.m. The attackers grabbed the victim’s cellphone and fled.

The victim sustained minor injuries not requiring hospitalization.

Two witnesses followed the suspects and were able to provide police with information on their whereabouts.

Errol Rose and Triston Douglas, both 18 of Ottawa, are jointly charged with one count of robbery. Rose is also charged with one count of breach of a YCJA disposition.

A 17-year-old youth, also of Ottawa, was also charged with robbery and breach of a young offender disposition.

Rose and the youth were to appear in court Thursday. Douglas was released and is to appear in court May 17.
