Of all nights.

Hydro Ottawa reported 1,248 customers without power around Sens Mile, 30 minutes before the puck is scheduled to drop on Game 7 between the Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Hmm well the power line box outside my apartment just caught on fire and exploded so this is clearly going well.

The utility said the power outage is affecting customers in the area of Elgin Street, Somerset Street, MacLaren Street, Lewis Street, Waverley Street and Delaware Avenue.

The preliminary repair time is 1:30 a.m., so unless game goes into several overtimes, it could be a frustrating night for Sens fans in that area.

Hydro Ottawa says there are wires down at Somerset and Cartier streets.

At least some of the major sports bars in the area, including the Sir John A Pub, Hooley’s, MacLaren’s on Elgin, and the St. Louis Bar & Grill still have power. But The Lieutenant’s Pump and a few other restaurants in the area are in the dark.
