Two people were displaced in Gatineau Saturday after an unattended pot of frying oil caught fire and spread to the walls and roof of a single-family home.
Firefighters were alerted to smoke coming from the home at 247 du Vallon St., near the Galeries d’Aylmer shopping centre at about 12:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, the were greeted by flames shooting through the roof of the home.
One person was evacuated from the building, but there were no injuries.
Firefighters declared the fire under control at about 1:10 p.m..
Damages were estimated at $108,000. There were no injuries.
