Police have identified a man who drowned while fishing on Lac Ramsay in Gatineau Park on Saturday morning.
Melvin Larose, 56, was fishing with another man around 9 a.m. when their boat capsized. Neither man was wearing a life jacket, though they had them in the boat.
The other man made it to shore. Police divers later found Larose’s body.
The MRC des Collines police believe several factors combined to cause the boating flip, including a powerful motor, a heavy load and the way the boat was maneuvered.
